Juan Diego Borda
"I should be able to see it all with my ears”. This is the mantra I repeat myself when I approach any sound design project I take in my hands. My name is Juan Borda. I was born in Colombia, South America. I attended the Sound Engineering program at UCLA and after graduation I worked for several important L.A. based Audio-Post facilities.
I’ve worked with countless important brands, but besides the credit, my commitment is with the quality of the sound. My permanent goal is to be able to “paint a picture" for the listener by only using sound elements, to tell a story, and that's why my philosophy is about "seeing with your ears”.
My strongest ability is to have a comprehensive vision of what a determined piece of media needs. To conceptualize, execute and visualize the type of sounds, music and acoustic elements each piece needs in order to deliver the intended message.

Trópico Modular is musical project lead by producer Juan Diego Borda. Accompanied most of the times with the accordion prodigy Mr. Vallenato ( Jorge Villarreal) and flavorful percussionist Clodomiro Montes , and using analogue drum machines and synthesizers, Mr. Borda develops a dance jam fusion that combines the Colombian rhythms of Cumbia with modern electronic genres like Minimal, TripHop and Moombah.
